The life of a child is both colourful and lively. Thus, we wish to grant children a chance to use their creative minds to express their own ideas and feelings; to give them a chance to tell their own story. With the advancement of cell phone filming technology, the Canadian International Children Art Festival would like to host the 2011 Canadian International Children’s Mobile Phone Film Contest. This competition will be open to all children filming hobbyists.

Entry piece requirements:

  1. Filmed with a Mobile phone
  2. Must be based on the theme: “Green Life, We Create Together”. You could record the things/people that interest you.
  3. The story should be both intriguing and deep; it should be able to capture other people’s attention well and give the viewer something to think about.
  4. Entry videos should be 3MB or less, not exceeding 3 minutes, and in MPEG format.
  5. Entry videos could be edited with special effects and music.

The Organization Committee will invite International Film specialists as the evaluation committee.

Awards:

–        First place prize (1 winner)

Prizes: Animation class (12 classes), 1 movie ticket, Canadian International Children Cell phone Movie Competition certificate.

–        Second place prizes (2 winners)

Prizes: Animation class (9 classes), 1 movie ticket, Canadian International Children Cell phone Movie Competition certificate.

–        Third place prizes (3 winners)

Prizes: Animation class (6 classes), 1 movie ticket, Canadian International Children Cell phone Movie Competition certificate.

–        Success Recognition Prizes (10 winners)

Prizes: Animation class (2 classes), Canadian International Children Cell phone Movie Competition certificate.

There will be awards for Best Director, Most Creative, Best Story.

Entry piece submissions:

  1. Entry date ends on July 22, 2011
  2. All contestants should pay a $20 entry fee per piece entered in the contest. All receipts will be used to found the activity fees.
  3. Winning Entry pieces will be shown to the public on www.childrenart.ca.
  4. The Award Ceremony will be conducted on August 28, 2011

Important Notice:

Only the contestant is responsible for the realism and content of his/her film. Please keep and provide the original copy of the film for the organizing committee. If the contestant cannot provide it, then their rights to gain the award will be automatically taken away.

The contestants must agree with the possibility that his/her entry piece could be broadcasted to the public through television programs, radios, newspapers, and the internet. Therefore, contestants must be responsible for the copyrights of the music or other audio files used in his/her film. If any disputes or legal issues happen, the contestant should be responsible.
