Program Description

COVID-19 has been a difficult time for everybody, and for some of us, the struggle is not over yet. If you’re a youth dealing with mental health issues arising from the pandemic, join CICAF’s newest live education program, hosted by professional art therapists and overseen by our mental health committee

Are you a youth in a low-income family and want to help? Become a volunteer! We offer professional art therapy training and desire youth to help plan our next art programs

Program Brief
This campaign is looking for 30 low-income youth volunteers, who will receive 10 training courses led by professional art therapists, and ensuing certifications. Volunteers will learn to identify children suffering from mental issues and how to provide them with the tailored attention necessary. Volunteers will then work with our mental health committee to reform our after-school art programs as a form of mental disorder early prevention and intervention.
Take action
We offer 20 sessions of art training classes for 40 students total in four areas: painting, sculpting, photography, and digital art. In these classes, learn art while developing mental wellness through knowing the mind, discovering ways to relieve stress, practicing visual journaling to build resilience, and stimulating creativities to explore possibilities.
